IE6 standalone with conditional comments and cookies

Just a quick note for all of you that wants to use IE6 together with IE7 on the same machine. It is possible to get both conditional comments and cookies to work on the standalone installation. What’s even better is that Tredosoft has made a convenient installer out of it that fixes both the problems for you. And not only that. The same installer lets you install IE3, IE4, IE5, IE5.5, and IE6. Woha!

Not that anyone should develop for any browser older than IE6, but you can always want them just for the old memories.

So go read the multiple IE article and download the multiple IE installer (at the bottom of their article). I just tried it and it works great.

Another top tip off, thanks Emil!

The tredosoft article also explains how to get around the standalone ie4 address bar issue! (Ctrl+O then enter your address) :)

One issue though: the link to “the multiple IE installer” at the end of your post actually points to the IE7 Standalone article.

@Stoic: Thanks, those two links are right next to each other on their page. Updated the link to go where it was intended.

Thanks for this excellent tip! Looks like browsertesting is going to be a lot easier from this moment on. Read the comments though in the Tredosoft article, the installer is being updated all the time to fix several issues.
And Emil, thanks for your excellent and informative articles, which are pleasant to read.
